Russell Sage College is where Linda Jean Sampson, an attorney, earned her undergraduate degree. Ms. Sampson got her Juris Doctor in 1985 while working full-time in the area of corporate taxation and attending the Pace University School of Law's evening program in White Plains, New York. After receiving her J.D., Ms. Sampson worked in Mobil Oil Corporation, Inc.'s tax division in New York City. Her early professional experience was mostly focused on corporate and international taxation. When she wrote an essay on the inclusion of "life insurance proceeds in a decedent's estate" for the CPA Journal in 1983, she developed a penchant for estate tax planning.
